Considerations in Rescue Dog Training

Training for a rescue dog is most likely similar in training a regular dog but you have to take some special considerations. It may depend on the rescue center where you obtained the dog and perhaps its age. Below are pointers that you might consider in rescue dog training:

* Dogs that came from rescue centers or shelter homes might be having training issues. What you would first normally do before starting to train these newly adopted dogs is to restrict their bad habits. It is good to detrain them from jumping on other people, counter surfing, animal chasing, disturbing barks and other bad habits as these are all easily correctable. (more…)
